The Motorsport News Circuit Rally Championship, in association with MSVR, has unveiled an exciting eight round provisional calendar for its inaugural season.
The championship will feature rounds at seven of the country’s finest racing circuits, and will benefit from a substantial prize package worth in excess of £10,000, with contributions from Motorsport News, MSVR, Michelin and Coronado Controls.
The new-for-2015/2016 championship kicks off at Oulton Park on Saturday 7th November with the Bolton-Le-Moors run Neil Howard Stages in association with Graham Coffey Solicitors, before heading off around the country towards a finale at Norfolk’s Snetterton circuit in May 2016 (date TBC).
The other circuits visited will include Brands Hatch and Cadwell Park, which features twice, plus Rockingham in Northamptonshire, Croft in Yorkshire and Anglesey in Wales.
Tony Clements, Clerk of the Course for Chelmsford Motor Club’s MGJ Engineering Brands Hatch Winter Stages said: “Chelmsford Motor Club are delighted to be back at Brands Hatch for the MGJ Engineering Brands Hatch Winter Stages on Sunday 31st January 2015. Being a round of the new Motorsport News Circuit Rally Championship should add an extra degree of spectacle to the event and we look forward to welcoming competitors and spectators from all over the country. In conjunction with MSV we are working on some exciting new developments for the stages and all will be revealed in due course!”
Following on from the exciting news that Michelin is a fully fledged partner of the championship, The Michelin Cup will run as a secondary competition, within the championship, solely for those using the French manufacturer’s tyres, which will allow competitors the ability to win a full set of Michelin Tyres on each round of the championship.
On top of this already fantastic prize opportunity, competitors will be able to compete for honours in the Motorsport News Championship and secure a prize containing a free track or test day at an MSV circuit, an MSV season pass, and a full year Motorsport News subscription. Further to this the first placed package in the Michelin Cup will consist of 12 Michelin tyres, a bottle of champagne and free entry to round 1 of the 2016-17 Michelin Cup.
The entire season will benefit from strong media exposure, with partner publication Motorsport News supplying high quality pre-and-post event coverage of every round, whilst the Championship will appear on its own dedicated one-hour TV slot on the Special Stage TV show, broadcasted on Motors TV.
Championship Co-Ordinator Darren Spann commented: “We are delighted to have put together such a fantastic provisional calendar, and our thanks go out to the rally clubs who have been so supportive and enthusiastic to host the championship at their events. We are also very grateful to our partners Motorsport News, MSVR, Coronado Controls and Michelin in being able to offer the competitors a significant prize package in excess of £10,000!”
Registration for the championship will open on 5th August 2015 at 20:00 via the championship website: www.msnrallychamp.co.uk.
